The Olympics are coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun yet. We looked at some of the faces figure skaters make on the ice, and Nic Antaya photographed a snowmobile race with better hats than the Kentucky Derby. Cielito Vivas photographed the historic all-black cast of the Chocolate Ballerina Company Nutcracker in Philadelphia, and The Luupe collected photographers’ visions of love on Valentine’s Day. NPR examined Tiffany J. Sutton’s beautiful, award-winning photographs of the black women in her life, and Time examined Arlene Gottfried’s tender documentation of one man’s two-decade struggle with mental illness.
We didn’t pick a side at the Super Bowl last weekend, so we looked back at the last time the Cincinnati Bengals were in the game (Ronald Reagan was president) and why that’s an amazing thing to do. to have a Super Bowl in Los Angeles. We also took a look at what Ottawa’s “freedom convoy” looked like as Canadians protesting against vaccination mandates enter their third week of occupying Canada’s capital.
