French freelance developer Glee-Cheese Studio will release its first game, A musical story, in October. You play as Gabriel, a Jimi Hendrix character with a really great afro. At the start of the game, Gabriel finds himself in a hospital bed, unable to remember how he got there.
Part rhythm game, you will have to play music to unlock his memories. True towards A musical story Influences from the 70s, a lot of the tracks sound like they could have been written by Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and of course Jimi Hendrix himself. In all, the game offers 26 songs, and if you learn how to play each perfectly, you will unlock a hidden chapter as a bonus. Glee-Cheese presents its game as a story of love, friendship and the fight against addiction. The story unfolds without words, and it’s up to you as the player to “feel” and listen to the music rather than relying on a visual guide to progress through the challenges of the game.
A musical story will be available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and iOS. If you want to check out the game today, a a free demo is available on Steam.
