Another video game from Amazon encountered a premature end. The company has revealed at Bloomberg that he canceled the the Lord of the Rings Thu it was developing with the help of the Chinese Leyou. The company only explained the move by saying that it had been “unable to secure any conditions” to continue development of the massively multiplayer online title. However, sources claimed that Tencent’s acquisition of Leyou led to a contractual dispute that ultimately killed the project.
The cancellation is the latest bad news for a company that has had little success with game development. He canceled Break away in 2018 after a lack of progress, and it dropped Crucible after bad feedback during testing. Another MMO, New world, faced multiple delays and is not expected to launch until the end of August. While Amazon remains committed to its Game Studios efforts, they clearly haven’t delivered results quickly.
Not that Amazon is a rush. The internet giant pins most of its the Lord of the Rings hope on his Prime Video Series. The game would have been a practical addition to the series, but there is no doubt that it would have made a lot less money. It is especially disappointing for the fans. Although it is not the only one LotR online game, Amazon’s influence and the connection between the series could have made it a mainstream success.
