Buy safely and intelligently: Use common sense when shopping. If a price is too good to be true, if you don’t recognize a brand, if an item doesn’t have many reviews (or too many five-star reviews), or if a seller has just joined Amazon, you’ll want to maybe avoid buying. Our articles on buy securely on Amazon, decipher the number of stars, and what “Amazon’s Choice” means can help strengthen your knowledge.
The best Early Prime Day offers
These Prime Day offers are already live. Usually Prime Day has Amazon devices at the best deals we’ll see all year round, but so far we haven’t seen any noticeable discounts on Kindle devices, Fire tablets, or Fire TV sticks. Hopefully Amazon surprises us when the sale starts.
Echo buds
Photography: AmazonThe Echo Buds (8/10 WIRED Recommend) sound good and have great app and Alexa integration. The noise reduction isn’t quite on par with what you’ll get in Apple and Samsung headphones, but it’s good enough to block out most ambient sounds. They come with a charging case and plenty of tips and tip sizes to ensure a good fit.
The Amazon Halo isn’t a useful fitness tracker, but it does something no other device we’ve tested will: track your emotions. WIRED Associate Editor-in-Chief Adrienne So wore it for a month and found it interesting and ultimately useful. At the same time, should a company, let alone Amazon, standardize the full body scan process for its customers? It’s a good price, but there are some issues with this device. You need to know what you’re getting into with this one.
This smart display was released in 2019 and goes on sale frequently. This is not one of the absolutes best smart displays; we prefer large sizes. The 5-inch screen on this model is more suitable for a bedside table than a kitchen counter or front entry. Still, if a compact design doesn’t annoy you, $ 45 is the best price we’ve seen for this model.
Echo point
Photography: AmazonHere’s your chance to add Alexa to more rooms in your home without spending a fortune. The 4th generation echo point (8/10, WIRED recommends) is the best Alexa smart speaker. This offer is only available if you buy two and make sure to redeem the code PDDOT2PK at checkout to get the full discount. We saw a similar deal in last year’s sale. If you only need a single Echo Dot, chances are the single speaker will be pretty cheap once Prime Day officially begins.
There are two different sizes and finishes to choose from, and shipping is free. You’ll need to upload the photos you want to print if you haven’t already, but it could be a good way to redecorate the fridge (or print some inexpensive bedroom decor).
If you’ve never tried Prime Wardrobe before, you’ll get $ 15 off a $ 100 purchase. Prime Wardrobe allows Prime members to try on clothes and other items before deciding whether or not to buy. You have one week to decide whether to keep or return your items.
Amazon Launchpad highlights small businesses that sell products on its website. For Prime Day, Amazon is offering $ 10 free store credit when you spend $ 10 with participating small businesses. The free credit will appear in your account on Prime Day and automatically apply during payment. Here are some more details.
Amazon Kids on a Fire tablet
Photography: AmazonNew subscribers can participate in this offer. Amazon Kids + (formerly FreeTime Unlimited) gives young people access to age-appropriate books, movies, games, and more. The service also offers parents user-friendly parental controls to set screen time limits or manage web browsing. Usually, Amazon Kids + costs $ 10 per month. Remember to cancel your subscription before the automatic trial renewal if you are not interested in the subsequent charges. It is preferable to associate it with a Fire Tablet Kids Edition.
Free trials for Amazon Music Unlimited are nothing new, but generally very new subscribers can only try the service for one month. This trial lasts four. If you don’t cancel, it will be renewed at the regular rate of $ 8 per month. Amazon Music Unlimited offers ad-free music streaming, lossless audio, and more. It is not one of the best music streaming services, but if you are fed up with Spotify, it may be worth it.
Kindle Unlimited provides free access to millions of Kindle eBooks. I (Louryn) highly recommend it. It usually costs $ 10 per month. This offer offers variable discounts for 6 month, 1 year and 2 year subscriptions. If you’re already a member, it’s a good way to save on renewals, but it can also come in handy for those looking for a reason to sign up. As a reminder, you don’t need a Light up read these books, there are free apps for iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows, but a Kindle discount will likely appear during the event for people in the market.
