Android 12 could include big changes to notifications and widgets

It’s no secret that Google will be talking Android 12 to his I / O 2021 Conference, but it might be clearer what to expect at the virtual event. Jon prosser Home page tech possesses posted a video that not only appears to show off the previously leaked visual overhaul, but hints at new functional changes. Most notably, Android 12 would rearrange notifications with a grouping that tells you the number of pending alerts and a lock screen “pill” that shows what you missed.

You’ll also see a series of new widgets and buttons, including new clock and weather options.

The presentation could also provide more information about the visual refresh reported by Android 12. In addition to the rounded corners, you would see a much smoother look with lots of transitions and effects. Google is reportedly focused on giving its stock operating system a level of polish normally reserved for third-party vendors.

There is no guarantee that you will see this during Google’s I / O flow. This comes shortly after a claims Pixel 6 leak that would include a drastic three-tone overhaul with a camera bump that spans the width of the phone – this one-two leaked combo is a lot to deal with. If this is genuine, however, Google would be determined to shake up Android’s appearance after years of relatively conservative changes.
