Although it has been proven that Apple is absolutely don’t need help selling its devices, the company apparently felt creative and in the mood for singing when it created a parody ad based on The little Mermaid for its new iPad Pro M1. For reasons unknown, Apple hasn’t publicly released the announcement, but it looks like someone else has decided to spread the joy of Disney.
Apples Little Mermaid the parody, which features the classic song “Part of Your World,” began touring on Saturday. Interestingly, the announcement is on Apple’s official YouTube channel and went live on June 4, a few days before WWDC starts. However, the announcement has not been made public and is not listed on Apple’s channel. Some say the private link was leaked on social media.
For my part, I do not understand why Apple would sit on this gem. Being the Disney and Apple fan that I am, this video filled me with geeky fun.
Titled “Your Next Computer Isn’t a Computer,” the ad follows different people with dreary computer setups chanting and expressing their desire for Apple’s new iPad Pro, even though they’re “the girl who has it all”. The ad features people using the new iPad Pro to edit photos, games and video chats in the sun. As the title of the ad suggests, Apple is trying to make the case that its device can do almost all the things a desktop can do.
Personally, I’m not sure if I agree with that but it’s probably because I was brainwashed with two giant screens and an ergonomic office chair. (And AC, I can’t imagine happily working outside like the folks in the video right now without turning the same red as Sebastian, the song crab). That’s not to say the new iPad Pro isn’t a great machine.
As we pointed out in our review, the new ipad pro, equipped with Apple’s ARM-based silicon, is the best iPad you can buy right now. The 12.9-inch model has a miniLED display, allowing HDR content to really shine, and it’s fast and powerful. While its software has been disappointing, Apple recently announced iPad 15 gives it a boost.

iPad 15 introduces new multitasking features, an app shelf for switching between or working with apps side-by-side, and new collaboration tools for Notes, among others. It remains to be seen whether the iPadOS 15, which will launch in the fall, will make you miss the new iPad Pro. Until then, there is no harm in singing Disney songs to your liking. In AC. Or maybe it’s just me.
