Apple’s latest pride-themed watch straps are more representative

Since 2016, Apple has released a limited edition pride-themed bracelet and watch face, and this year is no exception. The company has just announced the 2021 Apple Watch Pride Edition, with two new straps and a watch face that will be accessible to everyone thanks to an upcoming software update.

The first bracelet is an interpretation of the braided solo buckle style, which is adjusted to your wrist size and has no clasp or buckle. This year’s group takes traditional pride rainbow colors and adds others taken from other pride flags, such as light blue, pink and white for transgender people and non-binary. It also includes black and brown coloring for the Black and Latinx communities. A new watch face is designed to match this bracelet, with all colors depicted in a weave-like pattern. Like Apple’s other braided solo curls, this one will cost $ 99.

There’s also a $ 49 Nike Pride Edition Sport Buckle that features the original six Pride rainbow colors mixed with white. There is also a special Nike Pride face for this band.

Both groups are now on sale on Apple’s website and will be in stores on Tuesday, May 25. Lest it sound like a purely capitalist play, Apple also notes that it is “building on its long-standing financial support” for LGBTQ + organizations including Encircle, Equality North Carolina, Equality Texas, Gender Spectrum, GLSEN , Human Rights Campaign, National Center for Transgender Equality, PFLAG National, SMYAL and The Trevor Project in the United States, as well as ILGA World internationally.
