At least 11 dead in Afghanistan bus bombing news from Asia

At least 11 people have been killed and dozens injured after a bomb attack hit a bus in Zabul province in southern Afghanistan, the interior ministry said.

The explosion took place on Sunday evening, according to the spokesperson for the governor of Zabul province, Gul Islam Sial.

He added that 25 people were injured, including women and children in critical condition.

Violence in the country has risen sharply in recent weeks after the United States announced it would withdraw troops from the country by September 11.

The Taliban announced on Sunday evening that they would declare a three-day ceasefire for the Eid al-Fitr holiday later this week.
