Bill and Melinda Gates announced their divorce on Monday after 27 years of marriage.
Cascade Investment, a holding company created by Bill Gates with proceeds from stock sales and dividends from Microsoft Corp., transferred securities worth more than $ 1.8 billion to Melinda French Gates, one day after the pair announced her divorce after 27 years of marriage.
Melinda Gates now beneficially owns 14.1 million shares of the Canadian National Railway Company valued at approximately $ 1.5 billion, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing dated 3 may.
