Within the framework of FIFA 21 Ongoing FUTball Festival, EA is selling new Ultimate Team Preview Packs that allow you to see their content before making the decision to purchase them. After previewing one of the packages, a timer will start that prevents you from seeing what’s in another loot box until it’s depleted or you purchase the one that’s currently available.
In one blog post spotted by Eurogamer, EA says it will only sell Preview Packs during the Festival of FUTball. Once the event is over, the usual company loot boxes will revert to FIFA 21is the in-game store. It should be noted that you use both the in-game currency that you earn while playing the game and the FIFA points that you can buy with real money to purchase the preview packs.
EA’s Ultimate Team modes have been , but they continue to make money for the company at an astounding rate. In fiscal year 2021, nearly 30% of EA’s total revenue, or approximately , came from Ultimate Team modes through its various sports titles. Several countries, including , are studying the potential links between loot boxes and gambling, with possible regulatory action to follow.
