Music fans were stunned to see the Arctic Monkeys enjoying a standard pint at Wetherspoon, Manchester.
After playing the Emirates’ Old Trafford Cricket Ground over the weekend, we all knew they were in town, but we never knew they’d show up at the local Wetherspoon’s Pub. No one thought that.
Everyone probably expected them to hang out at high-end luxury bars and ultra-trendy but expensive craft ale pubs. Definitely not at Spoons in the center of town.
At The Moon Under Water in Deansgate, rock stars were seen standing and drinking pints. It would be hard to refuse a cheap pint!
Fans stopped at a pub to ask for a photo with bassist Nick O’Malley, guitarist Jamie Cooke and touring band member Tom Rowley.
One person wrote, “I’m not saying Arctic Monkey is drinking under the surface of Deansgate, hahahaha.” A second enterer entered, “Imagine hitting a monkey on a weatherspoon, hahaha.”
Another pointed out, “The biggest band in the country is drinking curling with a spoon.” Some fans downplayed the band, comparing them to the iconic “Four Men in Jeans” meme.
This isn’t the only strange celebrity spotted around Manchester this week.
P!NK were spotted hanging out at Trafford Park’s Total Ninja indoor park for daughter Willow’s 12th birthday party.
The American singer-songwriter is set to perform two big shows at the University of Bolton stadium.
Coldplay’s Chris Martin was also spotted riding a train from Manchester to Cardiff after wowing the crowd with a spectacular show at the Etihad Stadium.
The members of Arctic Monkeys were filmed in Manchester over a beautiful sunny weekend, playing two gigs at Old Trafford.
The Sheffield band will play to a sold out crowd at local Hillsborough Park later this week.
