Two important figures in the history of Call of Duty have founded a new studio. At Summer Game Fest, Dave Anthony and Jason Blundell, former Treyarch, announced the existence of Deviation Games. They also shared that they are working on a new IP address for Sony, but did not detail the project. Given the team’s pedigree, you can probably expect a first-person shooter.
“We build on what we’ve learned in our collective decades making games, but we also want to create something new and bursting with innovation like you’ve never experienced before,” Anthony wrote in an article on following the initial announcement. “We strive to create a game that is huge and rich in content, focused on a lot of action and a lot of energy. “
Another big advantage for Sony is Deviation Games. It wasn’t until March that the company announced it was working with , a studio founded by former Ubisoft and Stadia producer Jade Raymond, to fund a new original PlayStation game.
