Google has launched a new Nest Thermostat last fall to mark the tenth anniversary of the intelligent temperature control range. The sleek device comes in a more compact body with an all-new touch-sensitive edge and a sleek mirrored display. While the $ 130 thermostat was already affordable, Google lowered its price to $ 100 before Earth Day. But, Amazon is offering the washer-shaped device for just under at $ 99.98 or $ 114.97 with a trim kit designed to cover any imperfections during installation.

Of course, the big draw here is the ability to monitor and reduce your power consumption. The primary way the thermostat does this is through a feature called Savings Finder which learns about your home system and program to offer helpful suggestions, like temperature or Eco mode adjustments. There is also a quick programming option which allows you to set temperature profiles according to your preferences. For example, you can make the weekdays warmer if you work from home, and the weekends cooler if you plan to go out. The same goes for different times of the day or when you sleep, and you can override the presets at any time.

All of these settings are available through the Google Home app, which also lets you interact with the device using smart speakers powered by the Assistant and Alexa. This way you can control the thermostat using your voice from the sofa or when you are outside. You can currently grab the thermostat in three colors on Amazon, including charcoal, sand, and snow.

Keep in mind that Google offers a premium alternative in the Nest Learning Thermostat, but it costs $ 149 more than the current offering on the entry-level model. For that price, you get more luxury materials, including a metal ring, a high-resolution display that has additional information including the time or weather, and the device is available in more colors.
