India reported a record daily increase of 217,353 COVID-19 infections in the past 24 hours, according to data from the Ministry of Health – the eighth record daily increase in the past nine days.
Deaths from COVID-19 increased by 1,185 to a total of 174,308, according to data from the Department of Health on Friday.
The total number of coronavirus cases has reached nearly 14.3 million, just behind the United States which has reported more than 31 million infections.
