State media, citing military sources, reported that Israel launched a “missile spray” just after midnight.
“Syrian air defenses intercepted the missiles and shot down many of them,” the source said, adding that the invasion had caused some property damage.
There were no details about casualties.
The source said the attack hit a “site in the Damascus countryside” but did not provide further details.
There was usually no immediate statement from Israel refusing to comment on reports of attacks in Syria.
