As fans drool in anticipation for the fourth installment of John wick, Keanu Reeves and Lionsgate Television seeks to expand the universe of Wick. There have been discussions about developing TV shows related to the movies back in 2017, but the president of Lionsgate TV Kevin Beggs has finally confirmed a prequel spinoff series on Hitman Haven The Continental will premiere on the Starz streaming service.
The Continental will explore the mythology surrounding putting the concept and politics of non-violence and neutral ground into practice. Beggs tells Deadline, “The Continental, which is famous in the hotel of the assassins movie franchise in which you can’t kill anyone on the hotel grounds, but of course if you walk with one foot you’re loyal, and so on. ‘is put to good use in many storylines in the movies. “
When you look into the details of the story, it starts with a young Winston – played by Ian mcshane in the movies. “The Continental” is about a young Winston and how he and his team of Confederates found their way into this hotel, which we first met in the movie franchise 40 years later. It is not known if Mcshane will physically appear on the show. However, it can provide a voiceover at some point.
Lionsgate TV and Starz are exploring different ways to tell this story, and according to Beggs, the first season could be multiple 60-minute episodes or three 90-minute episodes. Sadly, it’s unclear when the series will go into production or premiere, but at least we do know that an action-packed show is coming!
