LG’s Rollable OLED R TV is available in the US, if you can afford it

Three years after his splash Debut at CES 2019LG’s Rollable OLED R TV is finally available in the US – don’t expect to find one at your local Best Buy. In a change spotted by Guru HD, LG recently updated its international website to add a “Inquire To Buy“on the OLED product page R. Based on internet records, it appears that this option has been around since April 6. Pressing it will bring up the contact details of a local sales representative.

There is no mention of US prices on the website. In South Korea, where LG has been selling the OLED R since last October, it costs 100 million KRW. With the current exchange rate, it’s about $ 89,000. For that money, you get a 4K TV that can take different viewing positions depending on how much panel you want to see. In the online view, for example, only part of the display is visible for showing the time, weather, and music control. In addition to completely hiding the screen, it is also possible to lower it to avoid the letterbox when watching a movie. More down-to-earth features include support for AirPlay 2 and HomeKit, as well as a variety of voice-activated assistants.

Fortunately, if you’re looking for a more affordable OLED, LG 2021 program starts at a much more affordable price of $ 1,299 for a 48-inch set that is expected to go on sale in June. Even models from LG’s mid-range C1 family won’t cost you as much as the OLED R, the 48-inch variant priced at $ 1,499. And if you already have a decent TV, you can get a variety of practical accessories for less than $ 100.
