Island MinuteThe creepy and cozy style turned a lot of heads on its Gamescom debut in 2019. The “narrative platform puzzle” is made by German developer Studio Fizbin (the team behind the famous The inner world et seq) and is handcrafted in an illustrative style.
The game sees you playing as a young engineer, Mo, on an archipelago polluted with spores. Mo is tasked with fixing old machines that control the archipelago’s balance but, as you’ve probably guessed, they quickly find out that things aren’t what they seem. What follows, at least piecing together the various trailers that have been released, is a disturbing and introspective journey.
At E3 this year, Studio Fizbin announced a release date for Island Minute, and it’s … now. At least it’s currently available on PC, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. An Xbox version will follow on June 15.
