Netflix’s large library of anime content – who gets MAPPA animation Yasuke series this week – is added another big hitter in June with a Sailor Moon movie. Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie Parts 1 and 2 will be available everywhere outside of Japan on Netflix from June 3, confirming earlier rumors that Netflix was dubbing the movie.
Netflix Director Ema Hirayama said in a statement, “It’s a dream come true for all of us at Netflix to have Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie join our huge anime roster and share this amazing story with fans around the world.
Netflix:
The upcoming adventures take place in April, when cherry blossoms are in bloom and Tokyo is in a festive mood as it celebrates the biggest total solar eclipse of the century. As the new moon darkens the sun and gradually dims its light, Usagi and Chibi-Usa meet Pegasus, who is on the hunt for the chosen maiden who can break the seal of the golden crystal. Meanwhile, a mysterious troop called the Circus of the Dead Moon appears in the city whose nefarious plan is to disperse the nightmarish incarnations known as Lemures, to seize the “ legendary silver crystal ”, to rule the moon and the earth, and ultimately to rule the entire universe …
Both parts of this iconic series entry premiered in Japanese theaters earlier this year after a year of delay due to the coronavirus pandemic. It follows the Sailor Moon Crystal animated series, which American viewers can watch at present on Hulu.
