Capcom revealed a lot of information about Resident Evil during today’s presentation, including details about Netflix Animated Series but for people who are eagerly awaiting the next entry in the series, the most important thing is being able to play it. There will be Resident Evil Village demos available, but they’re all time-limited and can only be played during specific windows, so plan accordingly.
If you’ve got a PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5, you’re the first, with a 30-minute demo of the “Village” environment available for eight hours starting April 17 at 8 p.m. ET. A 30-minute “Castle” demo will be offered to PlayStation owners for the same eight-hour window on April 24.
If you want to try the survival horror game for longer, you will have a chance on all platforms (PlayStation, Xbox, Steam and Stadia) when 60 minute demos to access both environments are released on the 1st. may. They’ll be playable for 24 hours, starting at 8 p.m. ET, and pre-downloads are available on PlayStation starting today. The game will be released on all platforms on May 7th.
Other news included revelations that arcade-style Mercenaries mode will be part of Village and a crossover event with Death by the light of day. Capcom is also working on a first-person VR port of Resident Evil 4 which will appear on the Oculus Quest 2 headset, but you’ll have to wait for the April 21 Facebook event for more details.
