Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 3 is the best non-Apple smartwatch you can buy, but at over $ 400 it costs the same or more than Apple’s Watch. Now you can buy both the Bluetooth and LTE versions with discounts of $ 150 from Amazon, Best Buy, and Samsung – near the lowest prices we’ve seen. It starts to $ 250 for the 41 mm 3 Bluetooth watch in gold or silver, or $ 300 for the LTE version (also in silver or gold). And if you need a bigger watch, the 45mm version is $ 280 and $ 330 for Bluetooth and LTE models, respectively.
The Galaxy Watch 3 is noticeably thinner and lighter than its predecessor, as we noted in our Engadget Review, although it is still quite bulky compared to an Apple Watch. The rotating bezel provides a nice feel and provides convenient access to a number of functions, while Samsung’s Tizen user interface is quite intuitive.
It’s also packed with features, including fall detection, a built-in electrocardiogram (ECG), heart rate monitor, accelerometer, and more. These can help you track your sleep, telling you how long you are spending in REM and other stages of sleep. It also offers better activity tracking, a new running trainer feature, and smart activity suggestions.
The Galaxy Watch 3 is a good option if you’re torn between an activity tracker and a smartwatch, as it does both of these functions well. The fact that it’s on sale at three sites should make it pretty easy to pick up – just know that Samsung’s top prices require a phone, tablet, or watch to be traded in. If you don’t have one, select the “no trade” option to get the actual price.
