Virginia Day, a sophomore, and Matthew Zamora, a junior, attended the Coastal Bend Regional Science Fair on February 11th. Day and Zamora won her first place in the Behavioral and Social Sciences (BEHA) category as a team in the senior category. They both won the American Psychological Association for their Eye Sensitivity to Color project. Both, March 24 and she advanced to the Texas Science and Engineering Fair (State Science Fair) held at Texas A&M University – College Station on March 25.
San Diego HS freshman Juan Oscar Gonzalez also attended the Coastal Bend Regional Science Fair on February 11th. He placed second in the Senior Division Category: Embedded Systems (EBED). He advanced to the Texas Science and Engineering Fair (State Science Fair) held at Texas A&M University – College Station on March 24th and he was on the 25th.
Xiomara Landa, a junior from San Diego HS, also attended the Coastal Bend Regional Science Fair on February 11th. She advanced to her Texas Science and Engineering Fair (State Science Fair) held at Texas A&M University – College Station on her March 24th and shes 25th.
Bernarda Jaime Junior High (BJJH) Grade 6 Alyson Gonzalez attended the Coastal Bend Regional Science Fair on February 11th. She advanced to her Texas Science and Engineering Fair (State Science Fair) held at Texas A&M University – College Station on her March 24th and shes 25th.
Karina Sanchez, 8th grade student at BJJH. She attended her Coastal Bend Regional Science Fair on February 11th. In the Junior category category: Embedded Systems (EBED) she came in 1st place. She won the Thermo Her Fisher Award for her project, her RFID blocker. She advanced to her Texas Science and Engineering Fair (State Science Fair) held at Texas A&M University – College Station on her March 24th and shes 25th.
BJJH Grade 8 Trustea Davila attended the Coastal Bend Regional Science Fair on February 11th. She is a local she won 1st place in the BJJH science fair competition.

Over 20,000 students attended regional science fairs across Texas, and only 1,000 were selected to attend the Texas Science and Engineering Fair at Texas A&M University.
