IIt looks like SpaceX has pulled off its first successful launch and landing sequence from a Spatialship prototype, as the SN15 took off Wednesday afternoon and returned to the Boca Chica, TX site. It landed in one piece and by the end of the official live stream there is still a small methane fire at the base, but so far it has remained intact.
Elon Musk tweeted “Starship landing nominal” as he prepares for his appearance on Saturday Night Live, and current observers in the area show that SN15 continues to stand on the pad.
the SN11 the vehicle did not return to the ground, while the SN10 landed briefly before detonating after landing too hard and crushing their legs. With a successful high-altitude test under its belt, SpaceX has come very close to its vision of reusable spacecraft flying towards the ISS, the moon, around the earth and beyond.
