The best way to get a VR workout (it’s also fun)

Virtual reality workouts aren’t for everyone, but for some people they could be the something that causes them to start training regularly. Before choosing the right workout app for you, it’s worth identifying your goals. Do you want to do cardio every day? Or are you just looking to get up from your work chair? Your goals will inform your decisions about which apps work best for you, so keep them in mind.

The only downside to Supernatural against Defeat Saber is that it requires a monthly subscription. It starts at $ 20 / month, but you can pay $ 180 for a year to lower the overall price a bit. If you are not sure if you stick with the program, you might want to try the free trial or stick with one-time purchase apps like Defeat Saber. However, if you’re ready to turn your VR training habit into a routine, Supernatural might be a good choice.

Dance center

If you prefer to exercise with a full dance session, Dance center could be more your speed. This app works the same as previous games from the Dance center series, which typically used Microsoft’s Kinect device to track movement. In this version of the game, you instead use a VR headset and controllers.

Like the previous games, the objective is to imitate the dances on the screen as closely as possible. Since your score is tied to how well you reproduce dance moves, the game does a better job of training your body to do the right moves, rather than falling back on simple wrist movements. As Defeat Saber, Dance center is a one-time purchase, so you don’t need to pay for a subscription. This makes it an attractive alternative to more fitness-oriented apps like Supernatural.
