Almost two years after the original release date, Disney will finally offer Dwayne’s latest family film “The Rock” Johnson and Emily Blunt. Jungle cruise in theaters this summer. In addition, as Mulan, Raya and the last dragon, Black Widow and Cruella, you can watch it at home the same day it arrives in cinemas.
If you are a Disney + subscriber, you’ll be able to pay an additional $ 30 for a Premier Access pass to grab Jungle cruise at your place when the adventure film releases on July 30. According to Deadline, the filmmakers opted for simultaneous streaming and theatrical distribution as many cinemas in key markets like Europe and Brazil remain closed due to the pandemic. Even in places where movie theaters are open, many people are still hesitant to go to the movies when they can just watch movies at home.
You shouldn’t expect Disney to stick with the Premier Access strategy for the long haul. Deadline reports that the company is seeking to “revive theatrical activity”. Disney may have more to share on that front in its earnings call later Thursday. Meanwhile, like other Premier Access movies, Jungle cruise will likely be available to Disney + subscribers as part of their regular membership at some point.
