Twelve minutes (no it is not 12 minutes plus) finally has a release date after several years of work. Luis Antonio and Annapurna Interactive have announced that the time-looped thriller will be available on Xbox consoles, PCs, and the cloud on August 19, 2021. It will also feature the power of the stars – James McAvoy, Daisy Ridley and Willem Dafoe all lend their voice in the game.
The mechanism of time, of course, is the hook. As the name suggests, you have up to 12 minutes to progress through solving the murder mystery that brought a cop to your door. The more loops you go through, the more you learn about the crucial elements and widen your dialogue choices. Think of it as more cerebral (not to say less brutal) Return. It’s just a matter of whether or not the gameplay lives up to the unusual premise.
